Skiing: US snare trifecta

The United States men's ski team secured a trifecta at the Australia New Zealand Cup giant slalom men's Continental Cup race at Coronet Peak today.

Warner Nickerson took first place honours with Ted Ligety second and Bode Miller third.  Ben Griffin was the first New Zealander home in ninth place.

In the women's race, Canadians Marie-Pier Prefontaine and Marie-Michele Gagnon finished first and second with Norway's Chloe Margrethe Fausa third.

The first New Zealand woman home was Sarah Jarvis in ninth place while Queenstown's Taylor Rapley finished 13th.

Racing continues tomorrow with the men's and women's slalom races.
