So You Think has replaced last year's winner Shocking as Melbourne Cup favourite after a devastating Mackinnon Stakes win and a perfect barrier draw.
So You Think firmed from $5.50 to $4 with TAB Sportsbet after giving master trainer Bart Cummings his 11th Mackinnon success.
But after he drew so well in gate three, So You Think firmed further to $3.50 to give Cummings his 13th Cup winner.
The Cummings stable will also saddle up Precedence ($18).
The Mark Kavanagh-trained Shocking, $4.50 before the Mackinnon and $6 after finishing sixth, drifted to $8 after drawing the outside gate in the capacity field of 24.
Lexus Stakes winner Maluckyday was the big firmer on Saturday, coming in from $81 and is now third pick in the betting at $10 ahead of Geelong Cup winner Americain and Caulfield Cup winner Descarado, runner-up in the Mackinnon, at $12.
