
Dunedin will play in the seventh and eighth playoff after dropping two hard-fought games in Christchurch yesterday.
They lost 50-37 to Wellington and later fell 48-35 to Tauranga.
Despite the latter results, it has been a strong week for Dunedin United, comprising players from Dunedin, Central and Canterbury.
Wellington have been in some kind of form though and will come up against Counties Manukau in the final for the New Zealand Cup.
Counties are packed with strong players including Northern Stars defender, Lili Tokaduadua and midcourter Tori Kolose and Northern Comets shooters Jaelin Tulikaki and Crystal Maro.
Wellington is spearheaded by Central Pulse goal attack Khiarna Williams, returning from a horror injury run, and shooter Phoenix Schwalger.
Manawatu Green and Waitākere will play off for third and fourth, while Christchurch Whero meet Tauranga in the fifth and sixth playoff.
Defending champions Hamilton City will finish outside of the top eight.
Invercargill, who are in a pool for 16-20, had a couple of big wins yesterday.
They thumped West Coast 60-25 and Selwyn 53-38.
They meet Rotorua in their final game this morning.
