With winter approaching we all crave the warm and toasty feeling wool provides.

Recently, Central Otago-designed wool garments and winning entries from the WoolOn awards were displayed on the catwalk during the 70th celebrations of WS Hickey & Son.

The Omakau wool merchant’s fashion parade was a chance for people to see the results of home-grown talent,  along with winning designers.

WoolOn is a two-yearly fashion competition which features garments with a minimum of 70% wool content.

Julie Asher captured these images during the parade.
