French drama is going down a storm in Clyde.

Waiata Theatre Productions’ Les Miserables is delivering top entertainment in Central Otago.

The theatre company said that with great feedback and sold-out shows, the show’s season was being extended by four shows at its theatre in Clyde.

Waiata Theatre Productions is a relatively new company in the district. Since its first show in 2017, it has been bringing big Broadway shows to Central Otago, providing opportunities for local theatre performers to shine.

Attendances for the first week have been more than 80% and the Sunday matinee was sold out.

The feedback from audiences has been overwhelmingly positive.

The show features Bruce Potter, who plays Jean Valjean for the 75th time. He has performed the role four other times with other theatrical companies in New Zealand.
