That's what the Otago Motorcycle Club will spend on firewood it has bought from a Naseby forest and an Invercargill company.
Chairman of the club's organising committee, Stan Hansen of Dunedin, says the firewood bill is by far the largest cost for the event, which will be held for the 28th year, but it was getting more difficult to get wood offcuts, as most sawmills were chipping them.
"We need 450 [riders] through the gate just to pay for the cost of the firewood," Mr Hansen said.
MetService's forecast for the weekend is for fine weather tomorrow and a southerly change on Sunday.
Mr Hansen said riders needed to be prepared as it could get bitterly cold at Oturehua.
At previous events, temperatures of -20degC had been recorded.
The rally will again be held on Ken Gillespie's Oturehua property and by Tuesday night had attracted 767 registrations.
"We multiply that number up, and generally we are right on the button with our estimates of numbers. Last year was a surprise when we had the worst rain ever, and they just kept on coming. You never really know until the day," Mr Hansen said.
Alexandra police say they are not expecting any trouble from the rally but one or two general duty police, two highway patrol cars and the rural drink driving team will be in the area.
Senior Sergeant Mike Cook said discussions had been held with organisers over the past few months and police had emphasised to the club the risk taken by motorcyclists who might decide to take a shorter way home through the back roads, especially in winter conditions.
Organisers have a full weekend of activities and entertainment planned.
The FMX Korse riders are also returning to demonstrate their motocross skills, while the Bike Show 2008 has plenty of award categories to enter.
A band will perform tomorrow night.
