An oversight in organising building consent has meant a delay in the pouring of concrete bases for three new wind turbines in the Teviot Valley.
Pioneer Generation had organised for a fleet of concrete trucks to be on site today to pour three 180cu m bases, but that job has had to be cancelled until building consents are completed.
Resource consent for the three wind towers was obtained earlier this year, but the building consents were overlooked and have yet to be signed off, Pioneer Generation general manager Peter Dowling said.
"It's just like building a house. You have to get a building consent and that was absolutely overlooked."
The pours will now be done in early January, as it will be too close to Christmas when the consents are signed off.
Pioneer Generation has bought three second-hand 750kW N. E. G Micon wind towers from Japan.
They are scheduled to arrive at the end of January.
