Land location clarified

The Department of Conservation has clarified the location of a strip of land in Clyde being considered for disposal.

A proposal to lift the reserve status on the land, which came under Doc control last year, was in the public consultation process.

Doc statutory land management adviser Dinah Wakelin said the land being considered was above State Highway 8 (Cromwell-Clyde Rd), opposite Clyde township, and did not extend down into the town, as shown in the graphic in yesterday's Otago Daily Times.

The land between the highway and Clyde Lookout Rd in the township is reserve land which is controlled and managed by the Central Otago District Council.

Ms Wakelin said a notice about the proposal was published in the newspaper early this month but so far no submissions had been received. Submissions close on August 10 at 5pm.
