A motorist driving on State Highway 85 escaped unharmed when his vehicle caught fire near Chatto Creek yesterday afternoon.
The man stopped the car and got out when he noticed it was on fire, before alerting emergency services about 3.40pm.
Firefighters from the Omakau and Alexandra volunteer fire brigades, as well as Alexandra police, attended the scene about 12km north of Alexandra.
