Extreme flooding inundated Roxburgh sending mud and debris over roads, cutting off power and leaving the town without water. Allied Press reporter Yvonne O'Hara captured images of some of the destruction left in the wake of yesterday's downpour.

Video has also emerged showing a wall of mud and rock blocking SH8 south of Roxburgh. NZTA says SH8 is affected by slips both north and south of Roxburgh and will likely remain closed all day.
