The workshop is set to take place on Monday via Zoom.
Otago Regional Council deputy chief executive and strategy and customer general manager Amanda Vercoe said the Santana Minerals Bendigo mine application was a complex and controversial matter.
She said the council's comments on it, as part of the fast-track process, had been prepared to take into account numerous inputs, including from independent experts, legal advisers and information provided in confidence by other entities.
"The briefing will help inform the council's future inputs into the fast-track process," she said.
The council was excluding the public to protect information that if made public would be likely to prejudice the supply of similar information in future, as well as to maintain legal professional privilege.
No firm decisions are made at council workshops.
The comments which inform the briefing were expected to be available on the fast track website early next week.
The applicants comments on the submissions from interested parties are due on April 17. — Allied Media
