Police catch man who fled custody

The man who escaped from police custody in Cromwell on Sunday was recaptured this morning at a Cromwell home.

Brandon Rockhouse (20) was arrested this morning at 10:45am and will appear in the Alexandra District Court tomorrow.

A 23-year-old Cromwell woman has also been taken into custody and has been charged with being an accessory after the fact and possession of utensils for cannabis, Cromwell police head Sergeant Mike Williams said. ,>

Rockhouse (20), of Cromwell, ran off on Sunday about 5pm while being taken out of the back of a police car in the yard at the Cromwell police station.

Police said Rockhouse, who had a history of violence and weapons possession, had been arrested for allegedly breaching his bail conditions.
