Road cleared after dangerous goods truck crashes

A recovery crew was called to remove items from a dangerous goods truck which ran off the road on the Lindis Pass this morning, injuring the driver.

A police spokeswoman said the B train truck overturned on Lindis Pass (SH8), about 2km north of the intersection with Timburn Rd, just before 5am.

The driver received moderate injuries and has been taken to hospital.

The road was closed so the truck could be removed and has since reopened after being cleared.

A reporter at the scene after 10am said a recovery crew was on the scene with specialised machinery.

A St John spokesman said a 43-year-old male was taken to Dunstan Hospital by ambulance in a moderate condition.
