Cromwell Menz Shed members are selling a transportable, multi-purpose shed to boost their fundraising efforts to complete their new meeting place in Bannockburn Rd.
Menz Shed has been meeting in Cromwell in converted containers at the racecourse.
However, their membership and range of projects has outgrown the space.
Menz Shed charitable trust chairman Neville Hucklebridge said the group had been raising funds for their new 12m×25m building, under construction in Bannockburn Rd for several years.
They had built and sold picnic tables, planter boxes and trellis but this year they went big.
A 3m×4.8m building, fully insulated and double-glazed with carpet and window coverings, was constructed by the members and was now for sale.
Mr Hucklebridge said there were even lifting lugs incorporated ready for the new owner to pick it up.
With the holiday season approaching and most Central Otago residents likely to be descended on by family and friends looking for accommodation, the building would be an asset to any property.
However, it would equally make a fabulous sewing room, yoga studio or office space.
The group was grateful to all the companies that had supplied materials which would allow Menz Shed to use the proceeds towards their new home, Mr Hucklebridge said.
Other than the electrical work members had constructed the whole thing.
They were also doing the internal fit out of plumbing and planning to do the interior painting of the new shed, he said.
Paving for the outdoor area was also being planned by members who were already patiently preparing and stock piling recycled pavers from around Cromwell.
The new building would benefit the whole community with a large meeting room available for groups to use, Mr Hucklebridge said.
