Mr Winter said the car, which he called the "equivalent of a bulldozer", had been in his family for 72 years.
He found it easy to drive but not everyone did.
The car could only go up to about 45kmh but it had travelled long distances before.
His father drove it from Christchurch to Nelson in 1972 and he drove it from Dunedin to Mt Cook via Timaru in 2006.
Friends from Invercargill suggested the name "Grandma" and it stuck.
Event organiser Bert Turnbull said yesterday’s event was the inaugural show and 42 cars attended. The display day
raised about $850 for the Lakes District Air Rescue Trust.
