Swim centre reopens

The $3.3 million Cromwell Swim Centre has reopened after it was badly smoke-damaged in an electrical fire in June.

It took Breen Construction staff as well as volunteers, council staff, and pool management more than four months to redevelop and clean the complex, which has a six-lane, 2m-deep lap pool, therapeutic pool, spa pool, and children's paddling pool.

The entire interior had to be cleaned up to three times before being repainted Saturday and Sunday will be free-entry days at the pool, and those attending will be able to enjoy a sausage sizzle and other opening celebration events.
