There was itching, sniffing and a cacophony of barking at the annual church service for pets, and unfortunately for pet owner Prof Jim Mann, wearing tree-brown-coloured trousers to the gathering was not the best idea.
"I've just had a dog weeing on my trousers - that's a good start to the day, isn't it?" he said.
Of the 50 pet owners who attended the service, Jessica Mason came the best prepared to contain any unexpected incidents involving her pet.
Her lamb, Fuzzy Ninja Mason, was dressed in a nappy because "she does a lot of poos", Jessica said.
While one guinea pig, two rabbits, two rats and one lamb were present, the cathedral definitely went to the 30 dogs there.
It was a casual service, featuring appropriate hymns such as The Butterfly Song and The Blessing of the Animals, and a candle was lit to remember pets that had died.
Prayers were said for lambing and calving, St Francis of Assisi, the pets and animal welfare, and the service concluded with afternoon tea and dog biscuits.
