The newly-refurbished Oamaru Opera House is a "great example" of a state-of-the-art facility that can be accessed by everyone, including disabled people, CCS Disability Action chief executive Viv Maidaborn says.

Ms Maidaborn and members of the organisation's national board were in Oamaru this week for their final meeting of the year.

Waitaki Mayor Alex Familton spoke about the work of CCS Disability Action and the difference the Waitaki District Council was making to disabled people's lives.

"People don't realise the great work that the district council is doing for disabled people in Waitaki," Ms Maidaborn said.

CCS Disability Action used the meeting to plan for the coming year and to meet key people who had been critical to the continuing success of the organisation.
