A Waitaki District Council spokesman said the scans provided it with images of the rock armouring on the breakwater, the Holmes Wharf mole, the inner harbour and the coastline north of the Holmes Wharf towards the historic freezer buildings.
The annual scan would show what was happening along the coastline and beyond the breakwater when compared with last year’s information.
It would show the effects of work carried out in the past year and how much rock the ocean had eroded.
The information would inform future decisions, the spokesman said.
The scan cost $8250 excluding GST.
