Sewerage back on agenda

A proposed sewerage scheme for Hampden is again being investigated.

The Waihemo community board decided at a meeting in Palmerston this week to use up to $38,600 of Hampden amenity fund rate money for researching Hampden wastewater options.

Waihemo Community Board chairman Rod Philip said Waitaki District Council staff have been asked to report back to the board by the end of this year, after which the board will be able to consider options.

A public meeting will be held in Hampden to discuss the options after the board gathers information over two months. A Hampden advisory committee on the sewerage scheme options may again be set up, Mr Philip said.'
