A new residential subdivision at Luggate village, near Wanaka, is the second Upper Clutha development to try to entice buyers with the promise of affordable prices.

Luggate Park developer Jim Boult has released sections in the fourth stage of the subdivision, which offers buyers the chance to buy a section and new house package.

Prices for the "land and home" package start at $399,000.

Mr Boult has links to Queenstown-based building company Armada Homes, which is constructing the houses as part of the "land and home" package.

The release includes 42 lots with three levels of pricing.

Luggate Parks also includes three types of residential section options differing in size, price and outlook.

Open days are being held at the development from December 29 until January 11, between 10am to 2pm.

Luggate Park is the second Upper Clutha subdivision to offer prospective buyers so-called "affordable" homes.

Willowridge Developments Ltd has a "Kiwi First" affordable home ownership scheme, which offers rebates on sections and houses at Lake Hawea suburb Timsfield.
