Bayley's Queenstown hopes to cash in on a town "heaving" with tourists this week by auctioning 11 apartments and suites.
Domestic and international visitors, in the resort this week for the annual winter festival, have been targeted by Bayleys as potential property buyers in "a huge gala of hotel suites and apartments".
Bayleys Queenstown director David Murray said the auctions included a 100sq m suite at Heritage Heights, a 100sq m suite at Carrick Apartments, three suites, ranging from 35sq m to 60sq m, at Aurum Apartments and a 119sq m suite at The Shore complex.
Mr Murray said the influx of tourists was the "prime catalyst" for holding the auctions which will take place on Thursday at 1pm in Bayleys' Queenstown offices.
"Most of the apartments and suites... are primarily investment properties with... a set number of days personal use per year.
"This option... [is] very attractive for those who spend, say, two weeks a year skiing in Queenstown, and can then pass on the remainder... to friends or relatives."
