Several assaults allegedly took place in Queenstown on Thursday night.
Acting Sergeant Blair Duffy said a resident of the Queenstown Lakeview Holiday Park was knocked unconscious, with a suspected broken nose, at 8.30pm.
The incident allegedly came about when the man got into an altercation with a camper and was punched.
He was taken to the Lakes District Hospital, Acting Sgt Duffy said.
Inquiries were continuing in the hope of finding the alleged offender.
Shortly afterwards, at 8.40pm, an Invercargill man was arrested at a Queenstown camping ground for disorderly behaviour.
Acting Sgt Duffy said the man had allegedly been ejected from the camping ground for being racially abusive to security staff, before travelling to the bottom of the Ben Lomond and "attempting to get up on the gondola".
"He was also observed trying to to take kegs of beer and so was banned for disorderly behaviour."
At 11pm a Winton man was allegedly punched in the face by an unknown man on the corner of Searle Lane and Camp St.
Inquiries were continuing.
