Cardrona's appeal as a "destination not a thoroughfare" will be boosted by plans to form a marketing group for the village.
Cardrona Residents and Ratepayers Society chairman Sam Lee said the idea for a Cardrona marketing body and information website was raised at the group's annual meeting last Saturday by local business owner Barrie Morgan.
"I think it's a great idea," Mr Lee said.
He said the changing face of Cardrona meant it was a good time to start promoting what it had to offer.
"With the streetscaping going in through the council and various other things, we want to make Cardrona a destination not a thoroughfare.
"Hopefully in two or three years, we'll have a cycleway and a couple more cafes."
A website was the first priority to show the village, Mr Lee said, and other advertising material might also be produced.
