A lack of agenda items has prompted the cancellation of the regular Wanaka Community Board meeting for the second time in three months.
Queenstown Lakes District Council Wanaka Service Centre manager Barbara East sent an email yesterday advising the board meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 28, had been cancelled. The next meeting would instead be held on Tuesday, July 9, she said.
She confirmed in a subsequent email reply to the Otago Daily Times the cancellation was because there were not enough agenda items.
The board's March meeting was cancelled for the same reason. At that time, board chairman Lyal Cocks said the cost of holding a meeting just to hear the standard council reports was not justifiable.
