Cardrona Peak to Peak teams and individuals, including the High Performance Centre team (from left) Max Slinger, Willis Feasey, Sven Emmenegger, Wilbur Coote and Cedric Maret will take on competitors from NZSki.
Race organiser Southern Traverse Ltd has included a prize this year for the fastest skifield team and the fastest individual skifield employee.
The 44km race starts at the top of the Remarkables with a 2km ski or snowboard on The Homeward Bound run, finishing at the skifield access road.
A 17km mountain-bike ride down the high-altitude road ends at Frankton Beach, followed by a 7km paddle to Queenstown Bay. From the bay, there will be a 9km run to the foot of Coronet Peak, then a 9km of cycle ride up the access road to the base buildings.
Last year's open men's race was won by Adam Milne, of Christchurch, in 2hr 16min 14sec. The women's open was won bySimone Maier, of Wanaka, in 2hr 37min 58sec.
