Angus (4) was diagnosed with lung cancer little more then two weeks ago, leaving him, mother Fritha, father Gordon and sister Kate (6) little option but to leave for Christchurch for his chemotherapy treatment.
After raising $7100 through an ASB bank donation account and $470 at a Pippins and Brownies sausage sizzle, the community has thought up its next fundraising idea.
On May 26, the Arrowtown Athenaeum Hall will be the venue for the "We love you Angus" super entertainment evening.
The night will include live music from local bands Swamp Donkey and the Lynch Mob, as well as a silent auction and a supper for guests.
One of the organisers and a friend of Fritha, Lisa White, said the reaction of Angus' parents when they found out about the generosity of the small community was astonishing.
She said the funds raised had allowed Mr Beaton to stay off work and in Christchurch longer with the family.
Arrowtown Primary School, which Kate attends, and Arrowtown Preschool would be organising a disco fundraiser for the family soon.
Donations can be made to the Angus Beaton Appeal through internet banking or at ASB Remarkables and Queenstown offices.
