A community of 160 people could be working at Terrace Junction after construction of the $25 million office and retail complex is completed in December.

Terrace Junction Properties Ltd last week began promoting small office suites within the third block to be built. The 14sq m to 26sq m offices are being marketed to small business owners, large companies seeking satellite premises and home-workers wanting a professional environment.

The complex, beside the BP service station, will feature 12 retail shops, first-floor office space, retail premises and more than 120 car parks split over two levels.

Stage one of the development (block A) consists of a drive-through Burger King restaurant on the ground floor, with a 200sq m lease available above.

Westpac, Bridgman and Dean Optometrists, Bettys Liquor, ECOS Building Consulting, Frankton Hair Studio, Mitchell Mackersy Lawyers and a Queenstown medical professional have been confirmed as tenants in block B.

Di Williams, an owner of Terrace Junction Properties who is overseeing leasing arrangements, said construction was progressing well. Building began in October last year and a grand opening was planned after consultation with tenants.

"There's a lot happening at this development. The first stage's fit-out has commenced and preliminary construction is occurring in the second building.

"There's a lot of positive feedback. People want the services in Frankton."

There are 50 contractors working on the site and most of them are from Queenstown.

Blocks A and B will open at staggered intervals during September, while block C is scheduled to open in December.
