Arrowtown Golf Club manager John Stephens said golf gear had been flooding in all week.
There were some incredible items available, he said.
Included was an unused set of year-old drivers; a set of women's graphite shaft clubs and a bag for $60; and a $600 driver for $300.
There was a bag, bought for $250, offered for $125.
And there were carts, shoes and bags offered for $20.
"It's really perfect for anybody who's starting golf, or is wanting to get into it.
"We've got some great quality gear and at great prices . . . we just want lots of people here."
Most of the items have been donated to the club for the sale, which is in part raising money for Arrowtown Junior Golf and one of its young members, Shani Arona, who is heading to Auckland next month for an invitational tournament.
Mr Stephens said a "bargain corner" would be set up in the club rooms tomorrow, where people could take anything they wanted in return for a gold coin donation.
Eftpos and cash services would also be available.
Queenstown barista Steve Cade would be donating his services for the event, and making coffee for the shoppers; while the greenkeepers would be holding a sausage sizzle.
And there would be a special membership deal, with anyone who signed up for a 12-month membership getting a further three months free, meaning they would be fully paid up until November 2010, Mr Stephens said.
A raffle with several prizes, including a round of golf at The Hills with The Hills' new golf professional Craig Palmer, had just 80 tickets remaining; and Mr Stephens said anyone who spent $10 or more went into the draw to win a "ute load" of firewood, which was about 1.5cu m, or $100 worth.
The inaugural Arrowtown Golf Club Sale will run from 9am to noon tomorrow.
