Two men wanted in relation to an alleged kidnapping in Queenstown last week have been remanded in custody.
Joshua James Veint (23), farm hand, of Glenorchy and Pita William Hapurona Wilson (38), stonemason, of Glenorchy, will next appear in the Invercargill District Court on Tuesday.
Both men were arrested by police yesterday - Veint was found in the Glenorchy area about 3pm, while Wilson was arrested in the Frankton area at 9.20pm.
Veint has been charged with wounding Joseph Armstrong with intent to cause grievous bodily harm at Queenstown on November 26, with a maximum penalty of 14 years' imprisonment; with Wilson and Mark Junior Taylor, unlawfully detained Casey Johnston and Andrew Lee without consent with intent to cause them to be confined, between November 25 and 27 at Queenstown, which also carries a maximum penalty of 14 years' imprisonment; and, jointly offended with other, possession of class A-Controlled methamphetamine on December 3 at Queenstown.
Wilson faces one jointly-laid charge of unlawfully detaining Casey Johnston and Andrew Lee without consent and with intent to cause them to be confined between November 25 and 27 at Queenstown.
Queenstown Police said a 21-year-old woman was facing a charge of possessing class A-Controlled methamphetamine, while a 22-year-old woman has been charged with being an accessory after the fact of wounding.
Both women are due to appear in the Queenstown District Court on Monday.
