Long-serving GP Pat Farry dies

Long-serving Queenstown GP Pat Farry, awarded an MNZM for services to rural medicine earlier this year, died yesterday. He was 65.

Dr Farry began practising as a GP in Queenstown in 1971 and soon after began teaching students and registrars there.

He dedicated nearly 40 years to rural medicine and education for general practitioners.
