The Queenstown Jazz Orchestra announced this week it needed a fourth trumpet player and a fourth trombone player to take its numbers from the present 16 to the requisite 18 members.
A new male or female singer of any age was also needed as the existing vocalist was busy with other commitments.
Support volunteers were also required, from a conductor, to a librarian and roadies.
Orchestra spokesman and drummer Peter Doyle, of Arrowtown, said this week singers with experience of performing with a band and a desire to sing jazz would be advantageous as the orchestra had only a few months before a string of major performances this year.
The orchestra hoped to perform at the annual Arrowtown Autumn Festival, the Queenstown Winter Festival and the Queenstown Jazz Festival and was looking forward to making its debut at the Manawatu International Jazz and Blues Festival from late May and the Alexandra Blossom Festival in late September.
Mr Doyle said anyone interested can telephone him on 0274 343-946.
