One seriously injured in Queenstown crash

Two people are being transported to Dunedin Hospital after a car crash in Frankton Rd, near Queenstown.The patients are being taken by helicopter, one in a serious condition, after a car and a bus collided on the arterial road.

The crash happened about 7.15pm and the patients were initially taken to Lakes District Hospital.

The other patient has moderate injuries.

Fire Service Southern communications shift manager Brent Dunn said the Fire Service was required to cut a person from the car.

The Otago Daily Times understands the two injured came from the car involved in the crash, a black sedan.
