Plug that event in the calendar

The calendar would list all of the Christmas events in the district and Mrs Maxwell was keen to hear from anyone with a planned event.

"We want to hear about everything that's going on, from Christmas carol services to community barbecues.

"Big events like the Shotover Jet Remarkables Christmas Spectacular will be featured but we'd like promote smaller events as well, like Santa Claus visiting a play group.

"If it's got anything to do with Christmas, we'd like to hear about it."

The deadline for inclusion was noon on Monday, with the calendar being made available at the council offices, local libraries and schools as well as on the council website.

"This is a great way of letting people know what's on around the district this Christmas.

"We're sure everyone will find the calendar useful and we're looking forward to hearing about all the fun things people have got planned."
