Thierry Huet has trouble remembering autumn in his former home, Paris.
"I can't remember. But it wouldn't compare with Wanaka.''
The Parisian expatriate is so enthralled by the beauty of the season in the Upper Clutha he has released a photography book showing it.
"I believe autumn is the most colourful time of year, even for locals, so I have always been busy taking photos and after years of making postcards and calendars of Wanaka, it was time to take a step forward and publish a photography book.''
One thousand copies of his book featuring photos of autumnal scenery around the lakes district, but mainly in Wanaka, were printed last week.
After 25 years living in Wanaka, Mr Huet is still "blown away'' by the area's beauty as winter approaches.
He hopes the book will transport people to Wanaka for a brief moment.
