Year 6 pupil Elijah McDonald sang a pop medley and strummed his guitar to victory in the fourth annual QPS Has Talent competition on Friday.

Elijah won a certificate, the glory and the opportunity to play in the end-of-term school assembly next week.

Megan Carr (7) sang My Favourite Things from The Sound of Music to open QPS Has Talent 2012 on Friday.
He was one of more than 30 children who performed in 16 acts, selected from 70 who auditioned, to entertain their peers in Queenstown Primary School, along with staff members, parents, grandparents and the judges, Marc Hamilton, Alex Fraser, Sam Maxwell and Shaun Vining.

Acts ranged from singing and dancing, to instrument playing, gymnastics, stand-up comedy routines and magic.

Second place went to year 6 pupil Regan McIntyre, for his comedy routine.

Third place was won by year 7 pupil Gracie McQuaig, for her contemporary Irish tap dance.
