Queenstown woman crushed between cars

A 43-year-old Queenstown woman suffered hip injuries when she was crushed between her parked car and another parked vehicle yesterday.

A Mercedes Benz hit the woman's car and shunted it sideways on Park St just before 3pm.

The Mercedes continued moving, causing "considerable" damage to two other parked cars, Queenstown police Constable Julian Cahill said.

A 19-year-old Queenstown woman who allegedly drove the Mercedes was being spoken to by police yesterday.

Alcohol was not a factor and speed was not likely to be a factor, Const Cahill said.

Wakatipu St John paramedics transported the injured woman to Lakes District Hospital for X-rays, assessment and treatment.

Const Cahill said police contact details had been left on the windscreens of the damaged vehicles.
