A hearing date has been set for the controversial Stoney Creek Retirement Village development.
Stoney Creek Village Ltd (SCVL) wants to build a 97-unit retirement village on a 1.84ha site on Mt Aspiring Rd.
A group of Meadowstone neighbours to the development oppose the proposed "lifestyle" retirement village, which they say will change the face of Wanaka and destroy the residential community of their neighbourhood.
The Queenstown Lakes District Council released an amended resource consent hearing yesterday, which has scheduled the hearing for three days in the middle of next month.
Lakes Environmental planner Paula Costello, who is in charge of the SCVL resource consent application file, said a commissioners report was yet to be completed.
The report will make a recommendation to the hearing commissioners about how the proposal accords with the council's district plan.
The hearing is set down for Edgewater Resort, starting on Tuesday, December 15.
