Remarkables Primary School trustees are expecting a rush of enrolments after the application form for pupils years 0 to 8 was posted on the school's website this week.

The enrolment scheme and zone were formally approved by Minister of Education Anne Tolley on Tuesday.

The innovative $17.3 million school, under construction in Frankton, will open only for year 0 to 2 pupils from term one, 2010.

It will be open to only years 0 to 4 pupils from term three next year.

Years 0 to 6 pupils only enter from term one, 2011, then years 0 to 8 pupils from term one, 2012.

School establishment board chairman Roy Thompson said he and trustees were pleased their proposed enrolment scheme had been approved by Minister of Education Anne Tolley without changes.

"We believe it is the most logical zone for the community in the long term. Implicit from the approval from the ministry is the approval from other schools within the district."

Pupils who live in Frankton, Kelvin Heights, Jacks Pt, Lake Hayes Estate, Quail Rise and Lakeside Estate will be entitled to enrol at the school.

The enrolment zone covers pupils living at the intersection of Lake Hayes Rd and State Highway 6 along Frankton Ladies Mile Highway to Sugar Ln off Frankton Rd.

The zone covers Marina Heights, including Marina Dr, Viscount Ln, Cresta Ln and Perkins Rd, plus Kawarau Rd, Kingston Rd and Woolshed Rd to Wye Creek.

The zone also covers Tuckers Beach Rd, including Hansen Rd, Healecote Ln and Jims Way, along with Grant Rd and Glenda Dr, including Jock Boyd Pl and Margaret Pl.

McDowell Dr, including Marshall Ave and Ellen Johnson Tce, plus Stalker Rd, Maxs Way, Layton Ln, Strains Rd, Walnut Ln are in the zone.

The zone extends to Alec Robins Rd and Jean Robins Dr, including Alfred Duncan Dr, Olive Ln and Sicilian Ln.

"If you live within the zone and fall within the staged opening age groups, then your child has automatic entitlement," Mr Thompson said.

School transport entitlement zone will match the school's enrolment zone.

The board will decide the number of places which were likely to be available in the following year for the enrolment of pupils who lived outside the zone.

First priority would be given to applicants who were siblings of current pupils and second priority would be given to applicants who were siblings of former pupils.

Applicants who were children of board employees would be given third priority, followed by all other applicants.

Interested parties are invited to the second community forum, at the Queenstown Events Centre's upstairs function room, on Wednesday, September 16, between 3.30pm and 5.30pm.

Mr Thompson, trustees and Principal Debbie Dickson will be on hand to answer questions.

Deputy Principal Sarah Graham will be introduced, the enrolment zone and staged intake process will be outlined and the new school logo will be unveiled at the forum.

Parents and children are being offered a guided tour of the school construction site by school staff, trustees and contractors on Saturday, September 19, between noon and 1pm.
