Snow Farm scramble

Operators of the Snow Farm on the Pisa Range have been scrambling to prepare for the new season after the sudden resignation of general manager Jo Lynch about three weeks ago.

Founder, former managing director and current Snow Farm New Zealand director Mary Lee told the Otago Daily Times yesterday she had stepped back in to set up the management of the cross-country skiing venue for the season.

Mrs Lee said Ms Lynch's resignation had been ''quite a shock'' and she did not know the reason.

Mrs Lee said it was decided not to appoint a new general manager. However, Emma Davies has been appointed operations manager.

Ms Davies (25), from Lancashire, has been at the Snow Farm for the last two seasons and spent last season co-ordinating school groups.

The Snow Farm has eight staff - accommodation and catering are managed separately - and opens for the season officially on June 29
