Queenstown guiding company Alpine Adventures is giving its clients the opportunity to heli-ski and surf the same day.
Alpine Adventures owner Mark Dewsbery said there were few places in the world where you could ride a surfboard and snowboard or ski the same day.
''Fiordland is one of the best places in the world where can you surf a fantastic and remote wave in the morning with a local expert, then ski the afternoon away on the mountains.
''It's sure to make people's bucket lists, and promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.''
The company started in 2011, offering privately guided hiking tours and outdoor adventures, and has extended its offerings to snow tours.
Its heli-ski and surf tour is an addition to its ski guiding and heli-skiing and boarding options.
Mr Dewsbery operated the Mount Potts ski area on his Canterbury high country station for many years, and began HeliPark in 2002 as a pay-as-you-go heli-ski operation for off-piste skiing.
In 2004, he began Southern Alps Heli Ski to provide privately guided heli-skiing in Canterbury's Two Thumb Range.
The company was experiencing more demand for personalised ski holidays at the top end of the market this season, he said.
''With transtasman flights on the rise and an increase in Queenstown direct flights from major Australian cities, we're poised for a busy few months.''
