National Youth Brass Band of New Zealand members (from left) B-flat tuba player and vocalist Rene Spoors (19), tenor horn player Roseanna Dale (21) and cornet player Thomas Eves (21), all of Christchurch, gave residents and visitors a quick preview before their concert at the Queenstown Memorial Hall last night.
The 34-strong band performed works by Stravinsky, Shostakovich, New Zealand composers Gareth Farr and Ken Young, plus jazz standards and a vocal tribute to Elvis Presley.
The Queenstown concert was the third of four at various venues in the South Island.
