Dunedin-based Allan Dippie is pushing ahead with his newest residential subdivision in Wanaka, called West Meadows.
A sales launch for 31 sections in stage 1 of the development, west of Cardrona Valley Rd on the outskirts of Wanaka, will take place on Saturday, with section prices ranging between $235,000 and $285,000.
The subdivision is being managed by Mr Dippie's Wanaka-based property development company Willowridge Ltd.
Despite reports of a slumping New Zealand property market, Mr Dippie said Willowridge was faring well in Wanaka.
Developing residential subdivisions had a "huge knock-on effect" for the resort's economy and helped trigger growth in other industries, such as building and construction, he said.
Mr Dippie's primary business - Nichols Garden Group - won the Supreme Business Excellence award at the biennial Westpac Otago Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards in Dunedin on Friday night.
The success of Nichol's was integral to the growth of Willowridge, with the former providing "cross-over" services such as landscaping and construction, Mr Dippie said.
West Meadows is Willowridge's third major residential subdivision in the Upper Clutha since Mr Dippie established the company in 1993 to develop the Wanaka suburb of Meadowstone.
Last year, Willowridge completed stage 1 of its Timsfield residential subdivision in Lake Hawea, where it plans to develop 460 sections eventually.
The company is also awaiting the outcome of a Queenstown Lakes District Council plan change process to allow it to push on with plans to build the Three Parks subdivision.
Stage 1 of that project includes a 156-section residential, commercial and business park development.
