Cure Kids ambassador Sophie Newbold can now count learning to play theharp among her many experiences.

The 18-year-old was taught Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star by Scottish harpist-singer-songwriter Katie Targett-Adams ahead of Ms Targett-Adams' fundraiser for Cure Kids on Saturday night.

After the lesson, Sophie said she would like to play the harp again, though finding the right strings proved tricky.

Ms Targett-Adams is originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, and has performed in front of many notable people, including the Queen and J. K. Rowling, and at international events, such as the Beijing Olympics.

A speaker of multiple languages, she had been learning Maori ahead of the fundraiser and said the songs were "quite tuneful".

"One I'm doing some actions with and once you start doing that it actually helps you learn the song."

She would be spending a week in New Zealand before flying to Shanghai to perform.

She then heads to London to work on a CD.

"That's normal ... it does become normal getting on and off planes."
