Lake shore cleared for marina work

The Lake Wakatipu shore at Sugar Lane, in Frankton, is almost unrecognisable from just a month ago after trees were cleared and ground preparation work done for the new $20million Queenstown Marina.

Work began on November 27 and contractor Fulton Hogan has made rapid progress. The first stage of Lakes Marina Projects' marina, comprising 80 to 90 berths, floating sheds, a breakwater and car park, should be completed within a year to 18 months.
