Entries for Whakatipu Wildlife Trust’s (WWT) annual wildlife photography comp close next Wednesday.

There are separate categories for adult (18 and over) and young photographers — pictured are a New Zealand scaup snapped by Queenstown’s Martin Barwood, which won him last year’s adult category, and a kea photographed by Kobe Evans-Kent who won the youth category.

Entrants can submit up to four colour or black and white photos of "native wildlife of Aotearoa", though preference is given to wildlife found in the Otago/Central and Southern Lakes areas.

WWT will use the top images for a fundraising calendar.

Principal sponsor True South Scenic Flights is providing the adult prize, a fly-cruise-fly experience, and KJet the youth prize. Other supporting sponsors, AJ Hackett Bungy, Mercure Resort Queenstown, Skyline Queenstown and Golden Fleece Arrowtown are also providing prizes.
