Supertramp frontman Roger Hodgson and 1980s-'90s pop rocker Toni Childs are booked to entertain a crowd of thousands in Queenstown next January.

The musicians, along with Australian duo James Reyne and Mark Seymour, headline the 2019 Gibbston Valley Winery Summer Concert, run by Greenstone Entertainment.

Chief executive Amanda Calvert said the artists, who boasted massive lists of hit songs in their repertoires, would also play concerts in Taupo and Whitianga.

A crowd of 18,000 attended this year's Gibbston concert.

English prog rockers Supertramp sold more than 60million records through the '70s and '80s with hits such as Give a Little Bit, Breakfast in America, Dreamer and Take the Long Way Home.

Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Hodgson (68) has been a solo performer since leaving the band in 1983.

American-Australian singer Childs (60) released her first album, Union, in 1988, the year she also released NZ top 10 hit Stop Your Fussin' and I've Got to Go Now, which featured in the film Thelma and Louise.

Reyne was a part of Australian rock band Australian Crawl before going solo. His back catalogue includes the summer songs The Boys Light Up, Reckless, Downhearted and Motor's Too Fast.

Seymour helped form Hunters & Collectors, and performed as their frontman until the band separated in 1998. He wrote the anthem Holy Grail along with hits such as Throw Your Arms Around Me and Do You See What I See?
