The Multiple Sclerosis Society are having stalls at Caroline Bay on October 11 and we have a stall there where the public will be able to buy some treasures from us.
On November 8 at the South Canterbury Eco Centre we will again have irises for sale and on display.
We will also be supporting the NZ Alpine Garden Society and helping to promote their international speaker Clint Callens who will speak about his journeys in Asia and Europe.
He has great knowledge about the species arisaema.
At our Makikihi iris trial garden we have noticed the dwarf bearded irises are growing, they will soon be flowering.
Members of the public are welcome to come and have a look, and maybe order some or buy some in pots.
From Labour Weekend we will have open days on Saturdays from 1-4pm.
In the garden at home ensure the bearded irises have a feed of rose manure and the siberians would appreciate a feed of maybe blood and bone or compost.
Watch for aphids.
The members also had an enjoyable afternoon visiting Lyn Hammond who has a lovely alpine garden and plants for sale.
