A man with serious injuries to was taken to Timaru Hospital by ambulance after an incident at Seadown north of Timaru.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said fire crews assisted St John at the scene about 1.30pm; he could not offer any more information.
Police had no information on the incident.
A St John spokesman said no further information was available.
