The long service and hard work of dozens of St John volunteers and paid staff was recognised in Balclutha on Friday night.

Fifty people gathered at the St John centre in High St, Shirley Hennessy, a member of the priory chapter, presenting awards.

Volunteers Mark Chapman and Linda Howell, both of Lawrence, and Daryl Forrest, of Balclutha, were each awarded a second bar, recognising 22 years' service.
